7 Unique Blessings You Will Get From Allah In Ramadan
Ramadan is more than just a month of fasting; it is a time of immense blessings and divine gifts from Allah. It offers countless spiritual benefits of Ramadan, enriching our faith and drawing us closer to our Creator.
Narrated by Jabir bin Abdullah, it was said that the Prophet ﷺ said:
“My Ummah was given five things in the month of Ramadan that no prophet before me was given. Firstly, when the first night of Ramadan comes, Allah looks upon them, and whoever Allah looks upon, He will never punish. Secondly, their breath in the evening is more fragrant to Allah than the scent of musk. Thirdly, the angels seek forgiveness for them throughout their days and nights. Fourthly, Allah commands Paradise, saying: "Prepare and adorn yourself for My servants, for soon they will be relieved of the hardships of the world and come to My mercy and honor." Fithly, on the last night of Ramadan, Allah forgives them all. Then someone from among the people asked, “Is that the Night of Decree (Laylatul Qadr), O Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “No. Have you not seen that when laborers finish their work, they are given their wages in full?”
Our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ highlighted a total of 7 unique Ramadan blessings, making Ramadan a period of unparalleled mercy and spiritual elevation. Here are the Ramadan blessings that await believers during this sacred month:
1. Divine Attention and Mercy
On the first night of Ramadan, Allah s.w.t. looks upon his servants with mercy. According to the hadith, those who receive the divine gaze will not be punished. This serves as a reminder of Allah's immense forgiveness as believers enter the month of spiritual awareness.
2. The Fragrance of Fasting
One of the unique Ramadan blessings is that the breath of a fasting person is more fragrant to Allah s.w.t than the scent of musk. Scholars said that it means the rewards of the fasting person will be given to him in the hereafter and the scent will be more fragrant than the scent of musk.
3. The Angels’ Supplications
The angels continuously seek forgiveness for the servant throughout the days and nights of Ramadan.
The supplication of forgiveness by the angels is mentioned in the Quran:
“Those ˹angels˺ who carry the Throne and those around it glorify the praises of their Lord, have faith in Him, and seek forgiveness for the believers, ˹praying:˺ “Our Lord! You encompass everything in ˹Your˺ mercy and knowledge. So forgive those who repent and follow Your Way, and protect them from the torment of the Hellfire (7) Our Lord! Admit them into the Gardens of Eternity which You have promised them, along with the righteous among their parents, spouses, and descendants. You ˹alone˺ are truly the Almighty, All-Wise (8) And protect them from ˹the consequences of their˺ evil deeds. For whoever You protect from the evil of their deeds on that Day will have been shown Your mercy. That is ˹truly˺ the ultimate triumph. (9)”
The angels' supplication for forgiveness is a powerful reminder that we are always at the mercy of Allah s.w.t throughout our fast. It highlights the spiritual benefits of Ramadan, where even the angels pray on our behalf, asking for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness.
4. Paradise Prepares for the Believers
In this blessed month, Allah commands Paradise to adorn itself in anticipation of the righteous believers who dedicated themselves to worship and obedience.
Narrated by Sahl bin Sa’d, the Prophet ﷺ said:
“Paradise has eight gates, and one of them is called Ar-Raiyan through which none will enter but those who observe fasting”
Imagine the gates of Paradise opening up before us, ready to receive us. Who would not want to enter the place of eternal bliss and tranquillity? May Allah grant us to be among those who observe fast.
5. Complete Forgiveness on the Last Night of Ramadan
Narrated by Ibn Abbas R.A, it was mentioned that prophet Muhammad said ﷺ:
“When the night of Eid arrives, that night is called the Night of Reward.”
The greatest blessing of all comes on the Last Night of Ramadan, when Allah rewards complete forgiveness to those who observe fasting sincerely. This wonderful gift from Allah s.w.t erases previous sins, allowing us to enter Syawal with a clean slate.
6. Freed from Hellfire at the Time of Breaking Fast
Narrated by Abu Umamah R.A:
“Indeed, Allah has those whom He frees from the Fire at every time of breaking the fast.”
One of the greatest blessings granted at the time of breaking our fast is liberation from the Hellfire. What better way to end the day than to be freed from the burden of our sins and mistakes?
However, it is essential to break our fast with halal food.
It was stated that Anas R.A said, the prophet ﷺ said:
“Indeed, Allah has those whom He frees from the Hellfire every night in the month of Ramadan, except for a man who breaks his fast with alcohol.”
7. Acceptance of Supplication
Narrated by Ibn Abbas R.A, our prophet ﷺ said:
“There are three whose supplication is not rejected: The fasting person when he breaks his fast, the just leader, and the supplication of the oppressed person; Allah raises it up above the clouds and opens the gates of heaven to it. And the Lord says: ‘By My might, I shall surely aid you, even if it should be after a while.”
This hadith reminds us the mercy and justice of Allah; as we break our fasts, Allah s.w.t listens to our supplications and with that, He accepts and will surely respond knowing that He is the ever-listening. May we be among those whose prayers are accepted and whose hearts are filled with divine mercy.
Conclusion
The spiritual benefits of Ramadan are abundant, and the fasting person stands at the mercy of Allah, with a chance to receive all 7 unique Ramadan blessings. This is a month filled with Allah’s gifts in Ramadan, where forgiveness, divine attention, and ultimate salvation await those who dedicate themselves sincerely. May we be among those who embrace these blessings and emerge from Ramadan with our sins forgiven and our faith strengthened. Ameen.
